JOHN ALLEN, 37, of Mansfield, died unexpectedly Friday, April 6, 2012 at MedCentral Mansfield.

Born November 27, 1974 in Mansfield, he was the son of Les and Jeanie (McCormick) Allen. He was employed at AK Steel and enjoyed fishing and playing poker. A true sports fan, John was always watching sports on television, especially football and baseball and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. A great son, husband and daddy he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Brandy (Vermillion) Allen; three daughters, Autumn, Mackenzie and Eden Allen all at home; his parents, Jeanie (Denny) Featheringham of Bellville and Les Allen of Mansfield; a sister, Lisa Knuckles of Nashville, OH; two nephews, Hunter Knuckles and Leify Pry; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Randy and Melissa Shipley of Bellville; three brothers-in-law, Isaiah Shipley of Bellville, Jeremy Adkins of Galion and Chad Adkins of Columbus; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents William and Elizabeth McCormick and Ethan and Charlotte Allen.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2012 at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Gary Lambert. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
