Mary Frankfort spent her early life in Lancaster County, where in 1825 she married David Luttman, 1805-1871. Mary and David had six known children, Elizabeth Luttman Shaffer, 1825-1890; Benjamin Luttman, 1828-1825; David Luttman Jr, 1830-1906; John Luttman, 1830-1899; Martin Luttman, 1834-1921; and Catharina Luttman Warstler, 1836-1913.
Likely between 1850 and 1853 (1853, because grandson Jacob Luttman was born in 1853 in Ohio, not Pennsylvania), Mary and David Luttman moved with many of their family members to Plain Township, Stark County, Ohio. The exception was their son, John Luttman, who remained in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where many of his descendants still reside today.
Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, is the home of the famous Conestoga Wagon, a vehicle that facilitated the westward journey of American pioneers. Mary Frankfort Luttman, along with her sister, Margaret Frankfort Owen, and their husbands and families, were part of that pioneer trek from Pennsylvania westward.
Mary died on 28 November 1870 in Plain Twp, Stark County, Ohio at age 75, and was buried there.
