Mary Margaretta Heasley was born in Venango county, Pennsylvania, in the year 1837, passed away at her home in Phillips county, Kansas, March 22, 1922, aged 84 years, 8 months and 15 days.
On October 16, 1856 she was married to John Brandon, to this union were born fourteen children, six sons and eight daughters. Her husband and two daughters preceeded her in death.
She lived in Pennsylvania till the year 1879, when with her husband and family she moved to Kansas, locating on a farm in Phillips county where she resided till the day of her death.
She was a kind neighbor, a faithful wife and a loving mother. She leaves to mourn her loss six sons and six daughters with many relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the home on Thursday, March 23rd, conducted by L. A. Kerr, pastor of the Phillipsburg Presbyterian church. Interment was made in Plummer cemetery.
The surviving members of the family desire to express thanks to the neighbors and friends for acts of kindness and words of sympathy extended.
