COURIER-JOURNAL OBITUARY - 02/09/2003 - Frances M. Martin, 80, of Louisville, passed away Friday at University of Louisville Hospital. She was the former Frances Mildred Scharf, a native of New Albany, IN, and a retired PBX operator for Fireman's Fund Insurance Co. Frances was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church. Survivors include a grandson, Tony L. Hughes; a granddaughter, Vicki D. Steinberg; two brothers, Edward and Adolph Scharf Jr.; two sisters, Martha Holden and Helen Beswick; and three great-grand-children, Troy and Trent Duke and Kaylee Hughes. Her funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at her church, 4605 Poplar Level Rd., with burial following in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Monday at Ratterman & Son Family Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Rd. Memorial gifts may be made to Mass of the Air.
