Schriner, son of Mrs. William Dagenkolb, was killed in North Africa on May 25, 1943.
Commital services will be conducted at the Dutch Settlement cemetery, town of Ohio, at 2:30 p.m. Friday, with military rites in charge of Adirondack Post, American Legion. A firing squad from the Rome Army Airfield will take part, and the Rev. E. Kendall Scouten, former Methodist pastor in this area, now of Beaver Falls, will offer prayer.
Schriner was born in the town of Morehouseville in November, 1910, and lived in the town of Ohio at one time. Before entering service, he was employed in Dover, NJ. He also formerly lived in Poland.
He leaves his mother; one brother, Elmer, Mt. Vision; one step-brother, John Dagenkolb; three stepsisters Mrs. John Gove, Providence, RI; Mrs. Henry Blue, Cold Brook; Mrs. Edward Wright, town of Ohio. Utica Daily Press, Thursday, June 3, 1948
