Martha Ann Steele was daughter of Michael Steele of Dekalb Co. She married Thomas Riley Powell and moved to Gwinnett County. They had five children: Laura Winona, George Oliver, Minnie Mae, Chalmers Willard, and Sara Irene Powell.
