He was the oldest of four sons born to Stephan & Harriet Conner. His family moved to Illinois and then to Nebrska. In 1878 he married Martha Henderson.(According to her obit. they were married in 1875) His father was a Baptist minister and helped establish and organize the First Baptist Church of Alexandria, Ne. Those that preceded him were his only baby, Stephen, age 3 1/2; father and mother; two brothers, Charles & Isaac. In 1925, his wife left he and his only daughter to carry on.
Since 1925, he made his home with his daughter, Ruth & Byron Demaray on a farm north of Juction City, Oregon. He leaves to mourn: his daughter Ruth (Byron) Demaray, 8 grandchildren and younger brother, Joe of Farmington, Montana. Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist Church of Junction City, Oregon and burial was at the Young Cemetery. His wife and son are buried at the Alexandria, Ne. cemetery.
