TORRISON, Mrs. Thomas
Died of cancer of the stomach, Thursday morning at her home east of Buffalo on the Rockford road, Mrs. Thomas Torrison, at 48 years and 4 months of age. She was a sister of L. G. Gilbert and was born in Valders, Norway. Besides her husband two daughters and three sons survive her. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the Carlslund Swedish Lutheran Church* in Rockford town.

"After Pastor Chell had resigned as pastor in 1944, to accept a call in St. Cloud, Pastor Philip W. Pearson arrived in August to begin work in his first parish. The need of more adequate church facilities was realized and a Building Fund was established. At the January 9, 1945, annual meeting of the congregation, it was decided to change the name of the church from Carlslund Swedish Evangelical Lutheran Church to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. A new organ was purchased in 1946."
