Eldred Baker, 79, New Point, died at 8:12 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 1990 in the Margaret Mary Community Hospital, Batesville, Ind.

He was born June 1, 1911 in Kentucky, the son of Jess and Rachel Baker.  He was retired after being employed many years by the New Point Stone Quarry.

He was widowed, and is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Burchell (Doris) Moore, Connersville, Ind., Mrs. Ralph (Margie) Cummins, North Vernon, Ind., and Mrs. Bill (Nina) West, St. Maurice, Ind.; two sons, Earl Baker, Clarksburg, and William (Bud) Baker, Greensburg; two stepsons, Robert Harrison and George Brock, both of Connersville, Ind.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Herb (Deama) Robertson, Greensburg; two brothers, Charles Baker, Berea, Ky. and Claude Baker, Mineral Wells, Texas; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one stepson, one daughter, one sister and several brothers.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Moster and Cox Mortuary, Rushville, Ind.

Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Rush County, Ind.

Visitation will be at the mortuary from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
