NIMITZ — Roy L. "Bud" Dobbins, 77, of Nimitz, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2006, at his home following a long illness.

Born in Hinton on Dec. 12, 1928, he was the son of the late Roy E. Dobbins and Sadie Lilly Dobbins.

Mr. Dobbins was a retired employee of CSX Railroad with nearly 55 years of service, retiring as an engineer. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church on Sand Knob Road, Nimitz.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Mr. Dobbins was preceded in death by his first wife, Eva Dobbins; and a brother, "Snook" Dobbins.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Buckland Dobbins; a son, Dale Dobbins and wife, Jane, of Lerona; a daughter, Debbie Cales and husband, David, of Nimitz; stepchildren, Ronald Buckland and wife, Lisa, of Hinton, Keith Buckland of Shady Spring and Elizabeth Bragg and husband, Tommy, of Jumping Branch; eight stepgrandchildren; a stepgreat-grandchild; a brother, Todd Dobbins and wife, Mogene, of Hix; a sister, Martha Ann Richmond and husband, Harold, of Beckley; five grandchildren, Michael Cales, Eric Cales, Stacy Dobbins Garten, Josh Dobbins and Shelly Cales; and three great-grandchildren, Richard, Ryan and Kailey Cales.

Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Grace Baptist Church, Sand Knob Road, Nimitz, with the Rev. Billy Ballengee officiating. Burial will follow in Lilly-Crews Cemetery, Nimitz.
