Obituary for Robert M. Morris
Robert M. Morris, 69, son of Raymond Morris and Elizabeth Morris was born March 23, 1914 at Caldwell, Texas. He died Oct. 3, 1983 at his home near Houston.
He was united in marriage to Violet McKinney June 23, 1942.
Survivors include his wife, Violet, half brothers and sisters, Dick Ryan, Anna Mae Kubichek, Lucille Holcroft, Christine Davis and Troy Morris.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one half brother, Troy Morris.
Mr. Morris entered the military service Feb. 17, 1937 and served overseas during World War II and the Korean Conflict, receiving the good conduct ribbon and many other awards, commendations and recognitions including a letter of recommendation from General Patton.
He retired from the service as a Major July 31, 1957.
After retirement from service, Mr. Morris lived on a farm, enjoying caring for livestock and all farming activities.
Funeral services were Sat., Oct. 8 at the Ozark Baptist Church with the Rev. Bythel Friend and the Rev. Donald Young. Burial was in the Ozark Cemetery.
