Died – On Thursday noon, Sept. 3, Mrs. John McCole died at her home on Main Street this city at the age of 56 years, 2 months and 22 days. Mary Harlow was born in Providence, Rhode Island, June 12, 1852, and came to Wisconsin with her parents, James and Bridget Harlow, who located on a farm in Stoney Brook, near this city in 1853. On Oct. 7, 1872, she was married to John McCole and in the fall of 1873 they moved to this city and her husband engaged in the mercantile business. They have made this city their home ever since. Some five weeks ago Mrs. McCole was taken ill but no great alarm was felt for her recovery until a day or so before her death when she began to fail rapidly and passed away before her sons and daughter in Chicago could arrive here.
She is survived by her husband, four sons, James, John, Frank of Chicago and Hugh of this city and one daughter, May of Chicago, her aged mother, Mrs. Bridget Harlow and three brothers, James, Luke and Joseph Harlow. The funeral will be held from St. Augustine's church this Saturday morning, she having been a member of that church since the establishment of the congregation in this city in the fifties. The bereft relatives have the sympathy of The Times in their bereavement.
