MERCEDES, TX. - Jose Martin Gonzalez, 48, passed away Friday, April 20, 2012. He is survived by one son, Randy Joe Gonzalez of Edinburg, one daughter, Samantha Jolene Gonzalez of San Juan, TX , his mother, Julia Sanchez Gonzalez of Mercedes. Also surviving is his brother, Manuel (Sylvia) Gonzalez, Jr. of Mercedes, three sisters, Rosalinda Gonzalez, Maria (Homer) G. Villa both of Mercedes and Maria R. Gonzalez of Houston and one grandson, Gavin Gonzalez, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin today, Sunday from 1 pm till 9 pm with a rosary to be prayed at 7 pm at the funeral home chapel.
Funeral service will be conducted Monday, April 23, 2012 at 10 am at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Mercedes with burial following at Mercedes Memorial Restlawn.
Pallbearers will be David Reyes, Andres Reyes, Mark Reyes, Joe Chapa, Manuel Hernandez and J. B. Hernandez.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Garcia & Trevino Funeral Home of Mercedes.
