Armena Brown was the d/o Nathan Brown and Susanna Wilbur.
Her grandparents were Benjamin and Sarah (Case) Brown.
Her parents both of New York State were granted 200 ac. of land September 1, 1797, in Wolford Twp., Leeds Co., Onartio, Canada. They moved up there around 1800.

page 597 Edward S. Bellamy. It tells a little about his wife Armena. She was united in marriage to Edward S. Bellamy March 15, 1837 (Leeds Co., Ontario, Canada). Her brother Luther was a soldier in the War of 1812, in which conflict her father also served. Her grandfather
(Benjamin Brown) served as an officer in the American army under Washington's command. Of the union of our subject and his estimable wife eight children were born, of whom four survive, namely: Nathan E., Alice E.; Nancy A.,married Horace Rowley and Frances A. The four who were called away from life were Henry H., Joel A., Franklin and Lucius. Armena Brown Bellamy died at their farm in Easton Twp., Ionia Co., Michigan.

Above Nathan Brown had a brother Ezra Brown who married Elizabeth Newell my 3ggparents. Another brother Case Brown, Ezra Brown, and friend Richard Jaqua during the War of 1812 escaped from Canada to avoid being drafted into the British Army. Case, Ezra and Richard Jaqua helped many other young men escape back to America. Later they guided the American Army in boats thru the Thousand Islands to fight the British. In 1821 Case and Ezra moved to Seneca County, Ohio and built the first grist mill in Seneca Co., Eden Twp. The mill was on a bend of Honey Creek just above the village of Melmore. Richard Jaqua also moved there.
