Sue Joyner Sprunt, 90, died peacefully on April 27, 2012, at the Allen Morgan Health Center. Sue was born in Raleigh, North Carolina to Sue Kitchin Joyner and William Thomas Joyner on June 11, 1921.

She attended the National Cathedral in Washington DC, St. Mary's School for Girls in Raleigh, NC, and Columbia University in New York City.

Sue was a devoted Christian and faithful member of Second Presbyterian Church for over 60 years. She was also a member of The Junior League of Memphis.

Her husband was Walter Payne Sprunt who predeceased her in 1983.

Sue is survived by her two brothers, William Thomas Joyner and Walton Kitchin Joyner both of Raleigh, NC; four children, Walter Payne Sprunt and his wife, Libba Sprunt, of Dallas, TX, Sue Sprunt Stoudemire of Atlanta, GA, Julia Sprunt Grumbles and her husband, Bill Grumbles, of Chapel Hill, NC, and Musette Sprunt Morgan and her husband, Allen Morgan, Jr. of Memphis, TN; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Jones, Catherine Seals, Julie Sprunt, Anna Stoudemire, Will Stoudemire, Musette Morgan, and Worth Morgan; and three great grandchildren, Cort Jones, Bennet Jones, and Musette Seals.

Visitation in the Salmon Room at Second Presbyterian Church followed by a Memorial Service in the Chapel of Second Presbyterian Church.

A private burial for the family will be held at a later date in Wilmington, NC at Oakdale Cemetery.
