A.L. Conner, 76, of Springlake, died Friday, April 27, 2012, at his home in Springlake.
Services will be 3:00 P.M., Monday, April 30, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Springlake with Mr. Danny Butler and Mr. Glenn Harlin officiating. Interment will follow at Springlake Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.
A.L. was born May 20, 1935 in Cass County, Texas to Henry Anthony and Bertha Lorena Newsom Conner. He was a lifetime area resident and moved to Springlake in 1952. On December 9, 1954, in Clovis, New Mexico, he married Topsy Offield. He was a member of Northside Church of Christ in Olton. A.L. was an avid farmer who genuinely loved working the land and driving the tractor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Joyce Vanneman and a nephew, Ronnie Lee Wilhelm.
Survivors include his wife, Topsy of Springlake, his daughter, Nacola Furr and her husband, John of Dimmitt, three sons, Ardis Conner and his wife, Teri of Springlake, Jody Conner and his wife, Lesa of Springlake, and Gaylon Conner and his wife, Rhonda of Springlake, a brother, Robert Conner of Springlake, and two sisters, Gaynell Moree of Springlake and Treva Jo Crocker of Howe, TX. He was blessed with twelve grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
