Obituary:

Rev. Vito F. Cannizzo, C.S.S., 90, died March 5, 2006. He was born June 13, 1915 in Brockton to the late Vito and Marianna Inguanti Cannizzo. He was a member of the Stigmatine Fathers and Brothers, and entered the Stigmatine Seminary in Waltham in 1933. He professed his first vows in 1935, and was ordained to the priesthood on June 11, 1943. He was a graduate of the Stigmatine Minor Seminary in 1935, and the Stigmatine Major Seminary in 1943. He served as associate pastor at St. Ann's Church in Springfield, Our Lady of Mount Carmel in White Plains, NY, All Saints Church in Manassas, VA, Sacred Heart Church in Timmins, Ontario, Canada, St. Joachim's Church in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, and at Sacred Heart Church in Timmins. Additionally, he served as Religious Superior at the Stigmatine House of Studies in Washington, DC.

Personal note: I knew Fr. Vito when he was in Manassas, Virginia. I'd be hard pressed to find a priest more dedicated to his parishioners than him. I'm certain his entry into Heaven was filled with reunions from men, women, and children who were grateful for his priesthood.
