Paul Harvey began coming by the house late Fall 2011.
He was a stray boy with a goopy eye and a large appetite. He became a bit more friendly as time went by. I was finally able to touch him when he ate after I started feeding him canned food- sometimes two cans a day !!
I worked with him trying to get him used to petting and handling, but he was so skittish.
After a couple of months I was able to get him to come across the door threshold and jump up on a small stool to eat. Thats when I would just pet and talk and cajole him. My plan was to get him tame enough so as soon as I could get him neutered. Then I could bring him in the house full time. He could be and indoor kitty- along with my three girls.
The day I was finally able to get the $$'s and get him to the Vet was nerve-wracking...
Before the surgery they recommended having him FIV and Felv tested.
When the call came it broke my heart.

He was positive for both.

I had to make that awful decision to have him put to sleep.

And even now, three months later, I am still weeping over that decision I had to make.
He was such a Good Boy. And so gray and soft. He loved his life S.O. much...

Paul Harvey- I just want you to know I loved you.
And can only hope I did the best thing for you.
And I am so very very sorry...
Mama loves you so very much Paulito...
And misses your Sweet voice and your handsome face...

xoxo
