Jesup, Ga.

Lenox Anderson, 82 of Jesup, Ga. died Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at his residence after an extended battle with a stroke. The Wayne County, Ga. native was a member and inactive deacon with Calvary Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for 39 years. He was a retired procurement supervisor with Georgia Pacific of Brunswick, Ga., U.S. Army Veteran with the Korean Conflict, enjoyed woodworking and was predeceased by his parents, Tillman and Mamie Anderson, and sisters, Robbie Howard and Edwina Davis.

Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Mary Ellen Rowell Anderson of Jesup, Ga.; a daughter and fianc'e Angie Croy and Kenny Poppell, Jr. of Jesup, Ga., 2 grandchildren, Alex and Callyn Croy of Jesup, Ga.; 2 sisters and brother-in-law, Joanna and George Dart of Jesup, Ga., Betty Rossman of Dublin, Ga.; 3 brothers, James Anderson of Pittsboro, N.C. Frank Anderson, Turner Anderson both of Jesup, Ga.; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Vann Dempsey and Mike Highsmith officiating.

Interment will be in the Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Bill Rogers, Phillip Morgan, Bobby Hughes, Donnie Howard. Mike Highsmith, Pat Reddish, Harold Paul and Gary Ginter.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lennox Anderson's previous Sunday School members of Calvary Baptist Church and the employees of Hospice of South Georgia.

Visitation will be one hour prior at the church.
