Magdalena (Maggie) was born to Fredrick and Magdalena (Doerr) Gunsch(1877-1908) in Kassel, Russia. She traveled to the United States in 1901 at 11 months old with her parents. Her mother died in 1908. Fredrick remarried in 1909, a widow Christina Frey Graf with 2 daughters, Together they raised their 6 daughters. They were joined with 10 more brothers and sisters. Maggie married Rudolph Schlecht on Feb 12 1921. They raised 8 children...Gideon, Clarence, Walter, Reuben, Leona, Alvin, Alvina and Hilda.
