Virginia "Ginger" Summers Payne, 74, passed away at her home on Sunday May 8, 2011 surrounded by her family. She was born in Guilford County to the late Robert Luther Summers, Sr and Alma Kate Apple Summers and she was married to John Henry Payne who survives. She was a member of Apple's Chapel Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Randy Payne (Tina) and Greg Payne; daughter, Wendy Payne; 2 grandchildren; brother, Donnie Summers(Celia); 8 nieces and nephews; sister-in-law JoAnn Payne Green(Otis). She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert, Ervin, Ray, and Billy Summers.
Funeral services were held at Apple's Chapel Christian Church by Rev. C. Allen Myers III, Rev. Don Ledbetter and Rev. Joe West. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
