Another source states that he died at the Occmulgee Hospital in Macon, GA of nephritis (inflamation of the kidneys). He is buried at Rosehill Cemetery in Macon. He has a white cross military tombstone. This article was in the Macon Telegraph Newspaper on April 26, 1866.

A gravestone has Co. E.
Another source for a newspaper article from 1866, states that he is listed as being in Co. E & F, 28th Ala. and that he died 15 May 1864.
