Buxton
Mrs. Ruth Cummings Buxton, 4 Monterey Place, Alton, died at 10:02 p.m. Saturday at Eunice Smith Nursing Home.
She married Paul Henry Buxton Oct. 2, 1920. He died May 23, 1953.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Cecil Findley of Houston, Tex.; a son, Charles Henry II of Alton; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held Sept. 26 at 2 p.m. at the Unitarian Church of Alton, by the Rev. Calvin Knapp.
Burial will be in Alton City Cemetery.
Hayner Public Library and the Alton YWCA have been suggested as memorials.
