Born Sylvia Clarice Ludlow on November 8th, 1921, at Baxter, Iowa, she was the eldest of five children born to Earl and Mildred Grace (Sumpter) Ludlow. She attended grade school in Gilman and moved to Marshalltown where she graduated from the Marshalltown High School's class of 1940. On November 30th, 1942, she was united in marriage to Lawrence White. He preceded her in death in December of 1974. When preparing for her high school reunion, she rekindled her friendship with Eugene Alsbaugh who was a classmate. The two were united in marriage on December 22nd, 1985, in Des Moines. They loved to travel together, raise their dogs Hans, Fritz, Skipper and Gypsy, and she loved dogs, singing at the nursing homes, in choirs, the municipal band and even had her own radio program on KFJB. Mrs. Alsbaugh was a talented seamstress, enjoyed ceramics and lover her family. She retired from Fisher Controls after 29 ½ years of faithful service. Left to celebrate her life are her loving husband, Eugene, her son Terry L. White, Sr. of Prescott, AZ., grandson Terry (Heidi) White I of Dewey, Arizona, and granddaughter Carie Shannon (John) Hughes of Dewey, Arizona, one great-granddaughter and three great-grandsons, her brothers: Howard Elgin (Lucille) Ludlow of Lexington, TN., Eugene Earl (Lorraine) Ludlow of Casson, MN., and Lloyd R. (Carol) Ludlow of Julia Etta, Idaho, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
In death she has rejoined her parents, her husband Lawrence, sister Marietta Rachel Ludlow and her dogs.
