Murland Rockwood, now known as John A. Lockwood, 65, Frankfort, formerly of Winthrop, died on Saturday (2/24/1980) at Potsdam-Canton Hospital while visiting friends in the Winthrop area. The body will be taken to the Heintz Funeral Home, Herkimer Road, Utica, where calling hours and funeral services will be set.
He was born on 6/21/1915 in Montpelier, VT, a son of William and Ida Brabaw Rockwood. He attended Winthrop schools.
He married Laura Coggins on 6/17/1943 at College Park, GA. She died on 6/22/1968.
He married Jane Smith on 3/8/1970.
He had been a self-employed, heavy equipment operator and scrap metal dealer.
Surviving was his wife, Jane; his mother, Mrs. Ida Brabaw, Brush ton; six brothers, Floyd, Charles, Bert, Loni, Frederick, and Edward.
A brother, William Rockwood, died in 1972.
