GEN. WOOD CONDOLES WITH PALMYRA FAMILY
(By Staff Correspondent)
Palmyra, Mo., Nov. 4. -- Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Bohon of Nelsonville, Mo., parents of Harold S. Bohon, who died at Camp Funston recently, are in receipt of the following letter from the commanding officer of that cantonment:
___
Headquarters
Camp Funston, Kan.

October 19, 1918

Mr. Marion Bohon, Nelsonville, Mo.

Dear Sir:

I wish to express to you my sympathy in the loss of your son, Private Harold S. Bohon, of base hospital, medical dept., who died of pneumonia on October 15, while in training at this cantonment.

Harold Bohon's sacrifice was full and complete. He gave his life for his country and in so doing gave the most that one can give. He gave as those are giving who are dying on the battlefields of Europe in the great cause of humanity, free institutions and that this country may live in security.

Very truly yours,

LEONARD WOOD
Major General U.S.A. Commanding

Another Gold Star.
Another gold star has a place on the Marion county service flag, in honor of Harold Sidney Bohon, whose death occurred at Camp Funston Monday, the cause being pneumonia superinduced by influenza. The young man's home was in Round Grove township, being a son of Marion Bohon, and a school teacher by profession. He left Palmyra for Funston on the 2d of April, and has been in good health up to last week when his father was notified that he was dangerously ill, and went out to see him. He was an unusually bright young man, and was very popular in his home vicinity. At this time the remains have not been received, but they will be shipped to Ewing and Rev. Barbee of this city will conduct the funeral services as soon they arrive.
