Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Richard Miller with burial to follow at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, town of Kossuth.
Eleanor was born Jan. 2, 1918 in Chilton, daughter of the late Raymond and Bertha Kuster Oakley. She attended Chilton Public School and Henry Clay School at Sherwood. In 1939, she married Charles Baeckman of Manitowoc. He preceded her in death. On Nov. 9, 1946, Eleanor married Walter Riske at St. John's Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 1989. Eleanor enjoyed Gospel, old time music, bingo and playing the guitar. She was also a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sons and two daughters-in-law, one daughter, and son-in-law, 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one great great grandson, one brother Alfred Oakley, and two sisters-in-laws. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Eleanor was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Baeckman and two brothers, Walter and George Oakley.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and again on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff for their love and excellent care given to "Elley."
