Levi served in Co. C, 11th Indiana Cavalry. He died of disease, possibly from wounds received. It is believed he served with his brother-in-law Samuel Teeple, who had married Laura, one of Levi’s sisters, on March 21, 1847. Both died around the same time, but Samuel (who served in the same company) is buried in New Albany National Cemetery in Indiana.
