PORT ARTHUR — Hazel Gonzales Dill Baxter, 100, of Port Arthur, passed away Friday, January 14, 2011 at her daughter's home in New Caney surrounded by loved ones. Hazel was born on December 17, 1910 in New Iberia, Louisiana to William and Bertha Gonzales. She had lived a long and healthy life trusting in our Lord and had been a resident of Port Arthur for 77 years.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband and father of her 4 children, Norman "Pick" Dill in 1973; 2 grandchildren and husband, Edgar Baxter in 1979.

Hazel is survived by her 4 children, Lydia Halbert and husband Troy of Port Neches, Norman "Bubba" Dill and wife Mary of Honey Island, Ginger Nicklas, who was blessed to be born on Hazel's birthday, of The Woodlands, and Gladys Haynes and husband Bobby of New Caney; 13 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

A grandson called her "Copper Top" that never ran down and she was called "Little Red" by her bingo friends.

She is now with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
