Charles Hetzler
A Patriarch of the Rochester Hetzler Families.

Charles Hetzler was born in 1802 in Bavaria, Germany. He died on 12 Jan 1883 in Rochester, NY. He married Maria Ursula Vogel about 1824 in Germany. She was born about 1800 in Germany and died in Germany prior to 1853.

In Jan 1853, he departed Bavaria, Germany and arrived 24 Jan 1853 in Rochester, NY with himself his children noted below, and his Step brother, Henry Hetzler, Memorial# 141161468. Most of his life in Rochester was in Ward 6, at 75 Ormond Street (then named Chatham Street). His children worked and lived nearby in Ward 6 or Ward 11 and Gates.

Charles Hetzler was a Tailor. He operated his business out of his residence Bet. 1853-1880. Son Valentine, John, and George Anthony also operated Tailor shops, son John George was a Tailor also though changed business to peddling ice.
