He was survived by his wife, two children, Homer W. May, Jr., Bedford, and Donna May, at home; two sisters, Lillian Snell, Wolfsburg; and Sue Clapper, Baltimore, MD; and these half brothers and sisters, Pearl Hammond, Bedford; Edward, Alum Bank; Tracy, Bedford RD 2; Charles, Warren and John, all of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and one daughter.
Dr. May was graduated from Bedford High School in 1938. He received a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy at the University of Pittsburgh in 1942. After serving in the Navy in World War II, he continued his education at the University of Maryland, and in 1949 received the Doctor of Medicine degree. He served his internship at Mercy Hospital, Baltimore, MD. He served three years of residency, specializing in internal medicine, at the Veterans Hospital in Fort Howard, MD.
At the time of his death he was senior staff member of the Bedford County Memorial Hospital. He was chief of medical services at the hospital and president of the medical staff.
U. S. Navy Seaman 2nd Class World War II.
