Charles Mervin Cook, 46, died at 3 p.m. Friday at St. Francis Hospital, Peoria, where he had been a patient since May 24.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Davis Mortuary, Tremont, with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, Tremont.

Visitation will be one hour before the funeral on Monday only.

He was born October 30, 1924, at Springfield, a son of Thomas and Edna Robison Cook. He married Vivian Wainscott, November 19, 1949, at Springfield.

He is survived by his wife; five sons, Darryl Gene Steele, US Army; John LeRoy Cook, US Army; Charles Mervin Cook II, Pekin; Thomas Floyd Cook, and Harold William Cook, Hopedale; four daughters, Miss Sherryl Ann Steele, Hopedale; Mrs. Larry Sebring, Peoria; Miss Mary Virginia and Miss Rebecca Florence Cook, Hopedale; seven grandchildren; five brothers, Earl, Springfield; Thomas, New Jersey; William, Springfield; John Chatham; Harold, Champaign; five sisters, Mrs. Lester Hibbs, Camden; Mrs. Bernard Delaney, Des Plaines; Miss Eveyln Cook, and Mrs. Robert Cisco, Springfield; Mrs. Carl Hoffman, Peoria.

He had served with the US Navy and had lived in Hopedale three years.

He was employed by W. Heller and Son Co., Peoria.
