John A. McLOCHLIN, 73, 705 Madison street, former superintendent of the Rochester city street department and city water works, died at 10:45 a.m. Saturday in the Caylor-Nichol clinic at Bluffton. He died from burns suffered in a brush fire at his farm last July 2. Born Aug. 5, 1895, in Wayne township, he was the son of John and Mary HARRIGAN McLOCHLIN. His marriage was Aug. 8, 1917, in Greencastle, to Vernice C. OLIVER, who survives. Mr. McLochlin had resided in this area most of his life. He was superintendent of the city Water works from Jan. 1, 1957 to Dec. 31, 1960. He was chairman of the board of the ASC office when it first was organized and among the first board members of the Fulton County R.E.M.C. He formerly owned and operated an auto and implement agency here. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic church and the Manitou Moose lodge. Surviving with the wife are two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Dorothy) WARFIELD, R.R. 1, Kewanna, and Mrs. Wayne (Jane) BEERY, R.R. 4, Rochester; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. William (Edith) SHEETZ, Lafayette; Sister SABINA, St. Margaret's hospital, Hammond; and Mrs. Lawrence (Gertrude) HOLLAND, R.R. 3, Rochester; and a brother, Albert C. [McLOCHLIN], of Star City. A son and a daughter preceded in death. Final rites will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the St. Joseph Catholic church. Father Harold E. WELLER will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Ann's cemetery at Kewanna. Friends may call at the Foster & Good funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock tonight.
