Roy Dales Dies In Vicksburg Monday Afternoon

Roy Dale, a native of Columbus, Miss., died in a Vicksburg hospital Monday afternoon. The 53-year old merchant and farmer died after a brief illness. He had resided in Madison Parish for the past 35 years.

Mr. Dale was a well-known merchant and farmer of the parish. He formerly operated a dry goods store on Depot Street, which is now known as Bryant's Department Store. He was a member of the first Baptist Church of Talluah.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lillian Bennett Dale; a daughter, Mrs. W. S. Pierce of El Dorado, Ark.; a sister, Mrs., Hutson Covert, Philadelphia, Pa.; his mother, Mrs. M. W. Conner, Tallulah; and four step-brothers, Dr. C. J. Conner, Glande Conner, W. M. Conner, Columbia, Miss., and E. H. McCoy, Jackson, Miss.

Funeral services were held in the First Baptist Church of Tallulah at 10:30 a. m., Wednesday with Rev. Irvin Cheney, Jr., officiating. Interment followed in the Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.
