DEATH TAKES FRANK GATES AT HOSPITAL

Resident of Two Rivers for 49 Years Dies This Morning; Ill Over a Year Death at 11 o'clock this morning claimed Frank Gates, 63, 902 21st street, a native of Newton and a resident of this city for 49 years in the Two Rivers Municipal hospital. He had been in ill health for
more than a year. Death was due to a complication of diseases.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 9 o'clock in the Sacred Heart Catholic church, of which he was a devout member for many years. The Rev. Father John Landowski will officiate. Interment will be in Holy Cross cemetery. Remains are at the Bedhun & Goetz funeral home.

Mr. Gates was born in the town of Newton, this county, March 26, 1871 and came to this city 49 years ago, settling on the east side. On Aug. 4, 1900 he married Miss Barbara Monka of this city, who survives him.

He was employe of the Eggers Veneer Seating company for 18 years, working as a fireman and watchman. Later he became engaged in the commercial fishing business and was employed with the Heller Fish company for a number of years. Ill health forced him to retire a year ago.

Besides his widow Mr. Gates leaves three daughters, Kathryn at home, Mrs. Robert Jeffery of Manitowoc, and Cecelia, at home, and five sons, Joseph, Albert, Alex and George of this city and Anton of Manitowoc. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. John Bonin of Manitowoc and three brothers, Peter of this city, John of Newton and Adam Gates of Milwaukee. There are four grandchildren.
