Edmund W. Awe, Sr.

Edmund W. Awe, Sr., 79, of 1927 N 12th St., died Friday evening, Jan. 17, 1997, at St. Nicholas Hospital after being admitted for complications following a stroke.

Born Feb. 21, 1917 in Newton, Wis., Edmund was a son of the late William and Hulda Rambadt Awe. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. On Nov. 2, 1968, he was united in marriage to LaVerne C. Grunow.

He was employed at General Box C0. for 42 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Edmund is survived by his wife, LaVerne, three children, Edmund (Judy) Awe, Jr., Susan (Tony) Puksich and Clarence (Judy) Salzwedel, all of Sheboygan; six grandchildren, Kathy (Keith) Erdman, Gary, Cory and Dan Awe, Steve Puksich and Chuck Salzwedel; a sister and brother, Alice Leonowicz, Manitowoc, Wis., and Ruben Awe, Sheboygan Falls; other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by two grandsons and three sisters.

Funeral services for Edmund will be held at Lippert Funeral Home, 1132 Superior Ave., on Monday, Jan. 20 at 7 p.m. The Rev. Marcus Powers, Pastor of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, will officiate. Relatives and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Monday after 4 p.m. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Edmund's name.
