Jack married Annie Judson Bryan in 1892 in Bell County, Texas, where their first three children -- Frank, Blanche, and Palastine -- were born. By 1900 they had relocated to Cooke County, Texas where Walter was born, then to Hood County, where Ruth and the last child, Bess, were born.
By 1918 the family had moved to Texas City, Galveston County, Texas and Jack was working as a mail carrier. He later owned and ran his own tugboat, working at the docks as a boatman and quartermaster. They remained in that area, and Jack died there in 1933. His death certificate indicates he was buried in La Marque, but no marker has been found in LaMarque Cemetery or other cemeteries in LaMarque.
