Florida was born in August 1903. She was the 9th of 10 children born to William E. & Marria (Childers) Anderson (7th to live past infancy).
Florida grew up in Wilkes County, NC. In the 1910 Census, she is living with her parents & 4 siblings in Coddle Creek Township, Iredell County, NC. She is shown in 2 households in the 1920 Census: the household of her parents & the household of her sister-in-law, Mindey L. "Vennie" Childers (wife of her brother, Harrison).
Later, on 22 Apr 1922 in Mooresville, Iredell County, she married Harrison M. Bolick. Together, Florida & Harrison had 6 children. Her first child, Alene, was born in February 1923. Hazel, her second child was born in September 1924. Her third child & first son was born in October 1926, John. She was living with the 3 children mentioned above & her husband in Kannapolis, Cabarrus County, NC in 1930.
Another child, a daughter, Betty, was born in July 1931. Unfortunately, Betty didn't make it; she died of pneumonia the day after Christmas of that year. Her last two children, Ray & Reid, were born in 1938 & 1940, respectively.
Her & Harrison were separated after their third or fourth child's birth. Harrison died in March 1948. The 1940 Census shows Florida living in Bear Poplar, Rowan County, NC with just her 5 children.
Florida lived in the Mount Ulla/Bear Poplar, NC community for most of her life. When she got older, she went into a nursing home. In 1991, Florida's daughter, Alene, passed away. Then 7 months later, in January 1992, Florida passed away; aged 88 years.

Note: Although Florida's name & birth date are on her husband's gravestone, she is not buried at the grave of Harrison Bolick. I kindly ask that a photograph of his stone not be added to Florida's memorial.
