Wilhemena "Minnie" Steiding was the first born to John Bernhardt Lebrecht Steiding and Mariea Elizabeth (Batree) Steiding. She was born in Barton, Allegany County, Maryland. Minnie moved to Deer Park area on a farm run by her father. She never married and lived at home with her parents and later with his other two wives. In 1920, she was living with some relatives, as her father died in 1919.
Later, she went to live at a Home in Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland where she was a patient until her death in 1941. At that time, she was invalid, and had few family members still living. She was buried beside her parents and sister and brothers in Deer Park Cemetery.
