MRS. EDGAR SMITH DIES HERE SUNDAY
Succumbs at the Age of 59; Funeral to be Held at Richland. Mrs. Edgar K. Smith, 59, of west of McCredie, died Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Callaway Hospital. Mrs. Smith, who had been ill since last Tuesday was taken to the hospital at 11:00 o'clock Sunday morning and died two hours later. Mrs. Smith was born September 13, 1885 in Callaway county, the daughter of W. E. (Jack) Muir of south of Kingdom City, and the late Mrs. Virginia Dunham Muir. She was married to E. K. Smith on December 12, 1912. Besides her father and husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Talmage Bourne of Springfield, Ohio, Mrs. Raymond Atkinson of McCredie, and Mrs. Norman Lay of Wichita, Kan. Also surviving are two grandchildren, a brother, Claude Muir of Missoula, Mont., a half sister, Miss Opal Muir of McCredie, and a half-brother, Cecil Muir of McCredie. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Richland Baptist Church and burial was in the church cemetery. Services were conducted by the Rev. Raines.
