Robert Ralph Hillegass Sr 70, of Emmaus, died December 1, 1996, in St Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was born in Allentown December 2, 1925, He was the son of the late Ralph Arthur and Mildred (Christman) Hillegass. He was the loving husband of Joanne D (Highland) Hillegass,the were married July 2, 1949, they would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary in July. He was employed as a presser for the former Phoenix Clothes, now the Greif Co. for 38 years. He was a member St Johns United Church of Christ, Emmaus. And also a member of the V.F.W. Post 13, Allentown. Robert was a Navy veteran during WW11 aboard the Sub Tender USS Euryale in the South Pacific. He will be lovingly missed by his family, he is survived by his wife, three sons Bruce of Coopersburg, Robert 11 of Trexlertown and Scott of Northampton. Four daughters; Mrs Susan Masters, Mrs Robin Fuller, Mrs Penny Link all of Emmaus, Mrs Dolores Norris of Allentown. He was the grandfather of 19 grandchildren. And one great-grandson Nicholas. He was preceded in death by a stillborn daughter Tracy Ann Hillegass.
