Funeral services for Merced Gonzales, 104, of Rosenberg, will be 9 a.m. Saturday at St. John Fisher Catholic Church in Richmond. Father John F. Ware will officiate, with burial at San Gabriel Cemetery in Richmond. A procession will leave Hernandez Funeral Home at 8:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel.
Mrs. Gonzales was born Sept. 24, 1883 in Valle de Santiago, Mexico. She died early Thursday after a long illness.
Survivors include one son, Francisco Gonzales of Richmond; three daughters, Refugia Garcia of Houston, Carmen Fabela of Richmond, and Gracias Martinez of Needville; 10 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
