Augustine, Frank, of Limerick, formerly of Norristown, died at his home on December 18, 2011. Mr. Augustine was born in Norristown on June 5, 1923, a son of the late Pierino and Louisa (Roncase) Augustine. He was 88.
Mr. Augustine attended Norristown High School. During World War II, he served in the Merchant Marines. He was a self-employed realtor with offices in Phoenixville and Norristown and retired about 20 years ago. He and his wife were founding members of the Thomas Paine Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Eagleville. Mr. Augustine's hobbies included reading, travel, dancing and playing cards. He was an avid follower of politics. When he was well, he walked several miles a day. He was also a member of the Marchegiana Club in Norristown.
Mr. Augustine is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marian (Shuler) Augustine. Also surviving are his sons; Frank Augustine, Jr. (Virginia) of Clifton Park, NY and Perry Augustine (Erin) of East Coventry; 3 grandchildren, Rachel, Noah, and Isabella; 1 step-grandson, Harry; 1 step-granddaughter, Gabriella; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Estelle (Gigi) in 2010, and Andrea in 1966; and by his siblings, Dominic, James, Peter, Annie (Powel), Albert, and Nuncio.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service, Saturday, January 7,
2012, 11 AM, at the Thomas Paine Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 3424 Ridge Pike, Eagleville. Officiating will be Rev. Bryant Brown. Interment will be private at the Riverside Cemetery, Norristown.
