Aldena "Dena" Buchanan Connor, 55, of Claremont, died Sept. 28, 1999, at Vincor Hospital in Greensboro from complications due to a stroke. Born Aug. 29, 1944, in Jackson County, she was a daughter of Aldon Odell Buchanan of Sylva and the late Magnolia Greene Buchanan.
She was employed with Frye Regional Medical Center for 30 years.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne Connor; three daughters, Mrs. Tom (Cindy) Ballard and Anna Lyda of Greensboro and Lisa Miller of Claremont; and two brothers, Edward Buchanan of Sylva and Jo Buchanan of Brevard.
The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. David Lyda at 11 a.m. Thursday at Catawba Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bethlehem United Methodist Church cemetery in Claremont. Pallbearers will be Melvin Connor, Robert Miller, Ben Terry Miller, Allan Spencer, Tom Ballard and Henry Rigsby. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 tonight. Catawba Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
