Mrs. Carrie Kregar, wife of Peter A. Kregar, died in the Windber Hospital last Tuesday following a goitre operation. Her passing was a shock to many of her friends who did not know she had entered the hospital the previous Wednesday. The operation was performed on Monday. She was a woman devoted to her home, a good wife and mother, and a wonderful neighbor, well liked and known by a large circle of friends. She will be greatly missed in her neighborhood and elsewhere. She is survived by her aged mother, Mrs. Belinda Kregar, her husband and four daughters, Elsie, Sarah, Mary and Abbie Kregar, at home; also by two step-daughters, Mrs. Jesse Sanner of Upper Turkeyfoot and Mrs. Gladys Brougher, Wilkinsburg. The following brothers and sisters also survive: William, Clark and Orland Kregar of Upper Turkeyfoot, Mrs. Harvey Snyder of Connellsville, Mrs. G. W. Kane, Atlanta, Georgia, and Mrs. Chester Tressler of Upper Turkeyfoot Township, and the following half-brothers and sisters: Orville Kregar and Ira May of Rockwood, Mrs. Mary D. Little of Confluence, and Mrs. Samuel Boyd of Pittsburgh. Funeral services were held at the Kregar home Thursday afternoon at 2:30, services conducted by Rev. J. L. Kalp, pastor of the Church of God. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Mills and Mickey of Rockwood in charge as undertakers.
