FUNERAL SERVICES HELD MONDAY FOR BERT JONES

Funeral services were held Monday morning in the Reck Funeral Home for Bert Jones, long-time resident of the Ree Heights and Highmore area, who died at Memorial Hospital March 5 at the age of 87 years, six months, and 19 days. The Rev. Richard Moberly had charge of the services and burial was in the Ree Heights Morningside Cemetery.

Bert Jones was born at Blandinsville in McDonald county, Ill., on August 15, 1877. He was one of a family of four boys; Joe, who died in infancy; Blake of Blandinsville, Ill.; and Luther, now deceased. Jones received his schooling in Illinois.

He was married to Addie Belle Wilson in 1902 at Arapahoe, Okla., where they were employed on a ranch. In 1904 the couple moved to Memphis, Mo., and on to Miller in 1906 where Jones operated a livery stable. His wife died July 3, 1911, and was buried at Blandinsville.

In 1925 he was married to Elizabeth Melvin of Ree Heights where they ran a rooming house. She died Dec. 10, 1939, and was buried at Ree Heights. In April, 1944, he married Maude Morrow of Ree Heights where they made their home for awhile, later on purchasing a home at Highmore where they lived until the time of her death March 2, 1948. Jones then went to the Black Hills and later returned to Highmore. During the past few years hishealth has been failing and he has been cared for at the Prairie Center Rest Home at Miller,
