Obituary Notice – Western World – 26 September 1946
Achilles Martin, 84, passed away at the R. V. Leep Memorial Hospital Monday at 11:30 a.m. Martin, who lived alone, was found unconscious at his home in south Bandon. He was taken to the hospital immediately but never regain consciousness.
Graveside services were held at the Odd Fellows Cemetery Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Elmer E. Rosenkilde officiated.
Martin, who had been a resident here for 15 years, was born at San Luis Obispo, California on June 4, 1862. He had been employed at the mill here and, before coming to Bandon, he lived in North Bend where he was employed at Simpson Mill for many years.
