Dorothy 'Alene' Hawkins was the 2nd child of Belton Lane Hawkins and Dessie Mae Washburn. At age 27 she married William Cunie Burns, a 51-year-old widower (older than her own father) with two teenage daughters. Alene & 'Burns' were married 36 years, but had no children. She was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. She was always serving others. She lived to be 89 years old.
