Daughter of Richard Ainsworth (c. 1784 - 1858) and Betsey Crocker (c. 1781 - 1850).

Married Captain (Master Mariner) Allen Bursley in 1831; he died in 1835. Married second, Captain (Master Mariner) Daniel Wood in 1856; he died in 1873.

Mother of Captain, later Major, of Artillery, A. A. Bursley who served from Louisiana.

Died in Vicksburg during the Yellow Fever epidemic of 1878.
