Daughter of Truman Cowell and Betsey Blanchard.

Anna was born on Feb 21, 1807 in Spencer, Tioga County, New York. Her birthplace is listed as New York in the 1880 Census and the separate 1900 Censuses for her children Harvey, Nathan, and Roxie. It should be noted that her birthplace is incorrectly listed as Connecticut in her son William's 1900 Census and her daughter Mary's 1920 Census.

According to her father's day ledger, her nickname was Anny (It also confirmed her birthplace as Spencer).

Anny was the sixth of ten children born in the Cowell family. In addition to the siblings listed below, Anny had an older brother and sister. Anny's oldest brother, Nathan, was born in Albany County, NY, on Dec 5, 1797, but lived his later years in Cayuga County, NY. His first wife was Betsey Scofield and his second wife was Lucinda Chetham. (Parts of Albany County combined with parts of Ulster County in March 1800 to form Greene County)

Anny's oldest sister, Naomi, was born in Albany County, NY as well, on Feb 26, 1799, and lived in Spencer as well as Richford, Tioga County, NY. She first married Horace Scofield, and then later married Henry Embody. (Parts of Albany County combined with parts of Ulster County in March 1800 to form Greene County)

On Oct. 28, 1834, at age 27, Anny married Charles H. Randolph, 35, in New York. They were married by Rev. Phineas Spaulding, first pastor of the Spencer Baptist Church (C.C. Randolph Bible, East Troy, WI) Anna's first child, Harvey, was born on March 9, 1836.

In 1848, she moved with her family to Granville (Milwaukee County), Wisconsin, where her fifth child, Roxana, was born on Aug. 27, 1848.

Listed in 1850 Census, Milwaukee County, Granville, WI, 42, with her husband, Charles, farmer, 48, and their children Harvey, 14, Mary, 12, William, 10, Nathan, 6, and Roxana, 2. On the day of the census, Oct 1, 1850, Mary would have been 13, and Nathan would have been 5. First four children born in New York, and Roxana born in Wisconsin. Charles' age would have been 51, and his birthplace is listed as N.J.. Anna's age would have been 43.

Listed in 1860 Census Walworth County, Troy, WI, at age 53, with her husband, Charles, farmer, 62, and children, Harvey, 24, farm laborer, William Henry, 20, Nathan J., 15, and Roxana, 11.

Listed in 1870 Census Walworth County, Troy, WI, at age 63, keeping house, with her husband, Charles, farmer, 70, and children, Harvey, 34, farmer, Nathan J., 24, farmer, and Roxana, 21, without occupation. Son, William Henry Randolph was not listed, as he lived in Eden, Fond du Lac County, WI at that time.

During 1880 Census, Anna and her husband, Charles, were living with son, Nathan, and his wife, Ella. Parents born in CT.

Anna died in her home in the town of Troy, on Nov 17, 1882, age 76. Funeral services were held at the house on Sunday morning at 10:30, Rev. J. Beardsley officiating. (obit, Elkhorn Independent, Nov 23, 1882)
